The Offshore Technology Conference 2018 is coming up, and it couldn't be in a better place – Houston. As America’s most-diverse city, Houston offers tons to see and do, so we thought we’d breakdown the must-see events at OTC – both at the conference, and the nightlife in the surrounding area.

With OTC celebrating its 50th anniversary, this will be banner year, with a number of must-see events in store.
1) OTC 50TH OPENING CEREMONY – NRG ARENA, NRG PARK:

Hear keynote speeches from industry executives discussing the milestones of the last 50 years. The discussion will cover the offshore technology evolution of the past 50 years, and what innovations we can expect in the next 50.
2) THE RICE ALLIANCE STARTUP ROUNDUP AT THE OFFSHORE TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE – NRG ARENA, NRG PARK:

The OTC Startup Roundup will showcase 40 promising emerging technology companies from the upstream energy sector and early stage of stage of development. Participating startups will hold several one-on-one meetings with investors, followed by 3-minute business pitches to OTC attendees and a networking reception.
3) CHAIRMAN'S PANEL ON ENERGY TRANSFORMATION (LIMITED SEATING) – NRG ARENA, NRG PARK:

Join the 2018 board chairman, Wafik Beydoun, as he hosts a powerhouse panel of cross-industry executives. This panel will feature energy industry leaders as they share their outlook and strategy regarding the transition from hydrocarbons to renewables.

5) THE DIGITAL OPTIMIZATION OF OFFSHORE EXPLORATION & PRODUCTION: THE NEXT 50 YEARS – NRG ARENA, NRG PARK:
2:00PM – 4:30PM, TUESDAY, MAY 1
During the last decade, 30% of the world’s oil production came from offshore. To maintain this production, offshore developments will need to significantly reduce costs – and the digital transformation could be the answer. This session will explore how digitally enabled processes for managing and acting on data generated in O&G exploration, appraisal, and field development and design workflows for offshore assets can reduce time from first discovery to first oil.
6) OTC NIGHT AT THE BALLPARK – HOUSTON ASTROS GAME AT MINUTE MAID PARK:

The Next Wave is one of the most-anticipated annual young professional events in the oil and gas industry.
